IAC Excursion: Phang-Nga One Day Trip

On January 18, 2025, the International Affairs Center (IAC) organized an exciting one-day trip to Phang-Nga province. The schedule included visits to Sarasin Bridge, Ao Phang-Nga National Park (featuring Panyi Island, sea cave, James Bond Island, and Phing Kan Island) and Bangphat Muslim Village. The excursion brought together 34 participants, including both international and Thai students, along with IAC staff.

The trip began with a leisurely stroll along the iconic Sarasin Bridge, connecting Phuket to Phang-Nga. The breathtaking scenery of crystal-clear waters and the captivating love tragedy story tied to Phuket made this a memorable start. 

From the pier at Ao Phang-Nga National Park, the group boarded a boat to explore the trip’s highlights. At the first stop, Panyi Island, where participants enjoyed shopping for souvenirs at the local market and experiencing the Islamic floating village lifestyle of the Muslim community. Next, the Sea Cave and a well-preserved mangrove forest showcased the region’s natural beauty and its importance in serving the marine ecosystem. The trip concluded at the main attraction: James Bond Islands (Khao Phing Kan and Tapu Island). These iconic limestone karst tower islands famously appeared in the 1974 James Bond movie “The Man with the Golden Gun”.  The day wrapped up with fresh, delicious seafood and local dishes prepared by the fishermen at Bangphat Village, offering participants a glimpse into the simplicity of their lives.

This trip offered more than just stunning views of tropical islands and mangroves - it created lasting memories and intercultural friendships among participants. It was a perfect blend of adventure, learning, and fun.
