On December 11, 2024, the International Affairs Centre (IAC) organized a half-day excursion on Bang Rong Community, a renowned Community-Based Tourism (CBT) destination located in Paklok subdivision in the northeast region of Phuket, with a group of 30 participants, including international students, Thai students and IAC staff.
The excursion allowed participants a unique opportunity to experience the hidden pearl of Andaman through a fascinating trip into the authentic lifestyle of Phuket at Bang Rong Community. The program was designed to showcase the rich cultural and natural heritage of the area, including a refreshing welcome drink, painting a Batik handbag as a souvenir, exploring the charm of this farming village, visiting all local economic crops: a pine apple plantation, a rubber plantation and a coconut plantation.
This memorable trip not only enhanced participants' understanding of Community-Based Tourism (CBT) and the sustainable practices embedded in the community but also fostered friendships among the students and staff, creating a meaningful and enjoyable experience for everyone.
