On Wednesday, March 19, 2025, the International Affairs Centre (IAC) organized a half-day excursion to Rang Hill, Museum Phuket, and Phuket Old Town. The trip brought together 40 participants, including international and Thai students, along with IAC staff.

Our first stop was Rang Hill, a famous viewpoint offering panoramic views of Phuket’s coastline and the Andaman Sea, which is part of the Indian Ocean. Participants enjoyed taking photos and watching the playful monkeys in the area.

Next, we visited Museum Phuket, located in the heart of Phuket Old Town. There, participants learned about Phuket’s rich history, especially during the tin mining era when many Chinese immigrants settled in the region. This wave of migration contributed to the development of Phuket’s unique Peranakan culture, blending Chinese and Malay influences.

Afterwards, participants had free time to explore Phuket Old Town, known for its outstanding Sino-Portuguese architecture and vibrant street art. The group then returned to PSU Phuket with plenty of photos and memories from the day.
