IAC University Social Responsibility (USR) Activities during the Vegetarian Festival 2025

On October 22, 2025, Prince of Songkla University, Phuket Campus, led by Dr. Tagsina Sripracha, Assistant President for International Affairs, Phuket Campus, together with faculty representatives, members of the Confucius Institute at Phuket (CIP), IAC members, and Thai and international staff and students, participated in the “USR Activities during the Vegetarian Festival.”

The team donated food, drinking water, rice, and other vegetarian cooking ingredients to Kathu Shrine, where they were warmly welcomed by the shrine committee. Participants also explored the long-standing customs of the Phuket Vegetarian Festival, a tradition deeply rooted in the local community for 200 years. Everyone had the chance to try vegetarian food at the shrine’s food offering area and pay respect to the Nine Emperor Gods while appreciating the shrine’s extraordinary architecture.

Another part of this activity took place on October 28, 2025, when IAC, together with faculty representatives, PSU COOP, the Dormitory Team, and Thai and international staff and students, participated in the Vegetarian Festival parade from Surakul Stadium toClock Tower Roundabout, Phuket Town. During the street procession, the group distributed donations to the public along the parade route.
