PSU Phuket Campus Welcomed Tokushima Prefecture Delegation, Japan

On November 18, 2025, Prince of Songkla University, Phuket Campus, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pun Thongchumnum, Vice President for PSU Phuket, welcomed a delegation from Tokushima Prefecture, Japan, for a strategic exchange on regional development.

The visit featured a high-level discussion following a lecture on Phuket’s tourism insights by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chayanon Phucharoen, Deputy Dean for Research and Graduate Studies, Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism (FHT). The session facilitated the exchange of problem-solving approaches and research perspectives related to regional tourism development.

Both sides shared experiences in addressing challenges faced by major destinations, including visitor management, infrastructure capacity, and sustainable tourism practices. PSU Phuket highlighted its academic role in supporting evidence-based solutions for these issues at the local level.

The visit concluded with a tour of the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism, where the delegation observed teaching and research laboratories that demonstrate the practical foundation of PSU Phuket’s tourism education and research.
