PSU Phuket Welcomed British Ambassador to Celebrate 170 Years of UK–Thailand Relations

On July 17, 2025, Prince of Songkla University (PSU), Phuket Campus had the honor of welcoming H.E. Mr. Mark Gooding OBE, British Ambassador to Thailand, on his official visit to the campus. He was received by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pun Thongchumnum, Vice President of Phuket Campus, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Thakerng Wongsirichot, Vice President for Academic and International Affairs.
The Ambassador delivered a special talk on “170 Years of UK–Thailand Friendship, Cooperation, and Collaboration,” highlighting the strong diplomatic ties between the two nations. He also encouraged students to recognize their potential as global citizens and emphasized the importance of intercultural understanding in today’s globalized world.
The talk concluded with a Q&A session with PSU students and participants from various faculties across the campus, fostering a meaningful exchange of perspectives.
The visit also included a tour of key facilities, including the ESports Studio at the College of Computing and the airline mock-up room at the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism.
This event marks a significant step in reinforcing PSU Phuket’s role as a regional hub for international education and collaboration.
