On July 23, 2026, Prince of Songkla University, Phuket Campus (PSU Phuket) had the honour of welcoming H.E. Mrs. Lucy N. Kiruthu, Ambassador of the Republic of Kenya to the Kingdom of Thailand, along with representatives from the Embassy of the Republic of Kenya, on a courtesy visit to the campus. The delegation was received by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pun Thongchumnum, Vice President for Phuket Campus, together with representatives from the International Affairs Centre, the faculties, and college, followed by a warm welcome featuring a traditional Thai musical performance by students from local schools in Phuket.

During the visit, representatives from the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism (FHT), Faculty of International Studies (FIS), Faculty of Technology and Environment (FTE), and the College of Computing (CoC) introduced their academic programmes and areas of expertise to Her Excellency and the delegation. This was followed by discussions on opportunities for academic and student mobility, joint research initiatives, and future collaboration with universities in Kenya in areas of mutual interest, such as ecotourism, computer engineering, and food security. The visit concluded with a campus tour, including the FHT learning facilities and the Esports Studio at CoC.

The courtesy visit marked an important step toward strengthening international collaboration and fostering future academic partnerships between PSU Phuket and institutions in Kenya.
