Russian Vibes: Language & Culture Festival

On November 13, 2024, the Russian Language Center, Prince of Songkla University, Phuket Campus, in collaboration with Altai State Pedagogical University, the Russian Federation and the Rassvet School, hosted the “Russian Vibes: Language & Culture Festival” at the Chao Fah Meeting Room, 5th Floor of the President’s Office Building (Building 7). The opening ceremony included welcoming remarks by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pun Thongchumnum, Vice President of Phuket Campus, followed by speeches from Mr. Egor Ivanov, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Phuket, and Mr. Alexander Sidorov, First Secretary of the Russian Embassy in Thailand.
The festival was organized to promote Russian culture and foster cultural exchange among PSU Phuket students and staff, as well as to engage the general public with an interest in Russian language and culture. Participants had the opportunity to enjoy traditional Russian folk dance performances and gain deeper insights into Russian traditions and customs.
The festival also featured a variety of interactive, creative activities, such as painting, traditional Russian games, and beginner-friendly Russian language workshops. Additionally, participants enjoyed authentic Russian snacks, further enriching the cultural experience and offering a taste of Russia’s culinary heritage.
The “Russian Vibes: Language & Culture Festival” aimed not only to educate but also to build cross-cultural connections within the community, providing an immersive experience that celebrated the vibrancy and diversity of Russian heritage.
