In August 2025, the International Affairs Centre (IAC) launched its exciting new initiative, the Global Citizen Project 2025. The program is designed to equip students with global citizenship skills, foster intercultural understanding, strengthen ASEAN student networks, and showcase PSU Phuket through international exchange and skill development activities. It is structured in three phases: Skill Development, International Exchange, and Presentation & Reflection.

A total of ten PSU Phuket undergraduate students from various faculties and nationalities were selected to join this exciting project. Their journey began on August 27, 2025, with the Project Orientation and Global Citizenship Skills Workshop, led by Dr. Tagsina Sripracha, which introduced them to the concept of global citizenship and the key skills needed to become global citizens. Building on this, on September 3, participants joined the Media Production and Presentation Skills session conducted by Asst. Prof. Dr. Nattapong Tongtep, where they explored the power of storytelling in communication and cultural exchange and strengthened their skills through a collaborative group activity. These workshops gave students hands-on opportunities to apply what they had learned and prepared them for the next phase of the project.

Here came the most awaited phase for the students: the International Exchange Activity in Vietnam! On September 8, 2025, ten PSU students, with Dr. Tagsina Sripracha and two IAC coordinators, joined our partner, Ho Chi Minh University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE), for a day full of learning and cultural experiences. In the morning, students attended interactive sessions on Vietnamese Culture and the Education System, kindly conducted by HCMUTE professors. They also had the opportunity to connect with HCMUTE peers while exploring the campus and observing classes and laboratories.

After a delicious lunch hosted by HCMUTE, the participants joined a Vietnamese Cooking Class as PSU and HCMUTE students enthusiastically worked in teams to compete in the “Perfect Spring Roll Contest”. The atmosphere was filled with laughter and excitement throughout the culinary experience.

The day ended with a closing ceremony, during which our students were presented with certificates and exchanged souvenirs with HCMUTE representatives. It was a memorable day full of meaningful experiences, intercultural exchange, and new friendships. We sincerely thank the HCMUTE team for their warm welcome and generous hospitality, which made this exchange truly special. We look forward to strengthening our partnership and exploring future collaborations.

On their last day in Ho Chi Minh City, before flying back to Thailand, participants turned their experiences from the skill development workshops and the international exchange in Vietnam into group Reflection Projects

On September 17, 2025, the project wrapped up with the ‘Presentation and Reflection’ activity. Each group shared their reflections and discussed the global citizenship skills they had gained and developed throughout the program. The project concluded with a beautiful farewell speech by Dr. Tagsina Sripracha, leaving everyone with wonderful memories.

Even as the first run of the project, the IAC offered PSU Phuket students a meaningful and eye-opening experience, helping them grow, connect, and confidently step into the world as Global Citizens of 2025.
