On Wednesday, February 19, 2025, the International Affairs Center (IAC) organized an excursion to Intara Farm in Phuket, where sustainable agro-tourism and local aquaculture activities are practiced in an eco-friendly way. This half-day trip brought together 32 participants, including international and Thai students, along with IAC staff.

Upon arrival at the pier, participants took a brief 10-minute boat ride to Intara Farm, a floating farm and restaurant surrounded by emerald waters on a sunny day.

Participants engaged in various activities, including learning about oyster pearl cultivation, spiny lobster farming, and feeding different fish species such as black salmon, white snapper, red snapper, and grouper. Cultural activities included designing personalized tie-dye shirts using natural dyes from mangroves and making Kanom Ko, a traditional Thai dessert of sugar dumplings with coconut.

A much-anticipated activity of this excursion was kayaking through the scenic mangroves. Participants enjoyed a lively and cheerful atmosphere, especially when some kayaks occasionally drifted toward the mangrove trees due to participants' beginner paddling skills, adding a playful and memorable touch to the experience. After that, the group participated in a beach cleanup, showing a shared commitment to environmental conservation.

The trip ended with a delicious seafood dinner, featuring fresh ingredients from the farm. As a meaningful final activity, participants released juvenile white snappers into the ocean to support local marine life and sustain the livelihoods of fishing communities.
