From January 7–10, 2026, the International Affairs Centre (IAC) was represented by Mr. Chawanan Chupeng, IAC Academic Officer, at the International Staff & Faculty Development Program 2026 held at FPT University, Can Tho Campus, under the theme “Internationalization of Higher Education in a Digitally Advanced and Rapidly Changing Era,” in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

The program brought together representatives from universities across Asia, including Prince of Songkla University (Thailand); Kansai University, Osaka Metropolitan University, and Chiba University (Japan); FPT University and Greenwich University Can Tho (Vietnam); Universitas Ciputra and BINUS University (Indonesia); and Panpacific University (Philippines).

The representatives took part in a range of activities, including workshops, training sessions, group activities, and academic presentations that focused on community engagement, project-based learning, AI-powered personalized learning, and blended mobility in global education.

During the academic exchange session, staff from Prince of Songkla University introduced the university’s approach to internationalization as a multi-campus public research university, highlighting its academic strengths, international networks, and active exchange initiatives. They also shared current challenges and future directions, including Internationalization at Home, digital and blended learning, and strategic partnerships.

The program also included networking and cultural learning activities in Can Tho, enhancing cross-cultural understanding and collaboration among participants.

Overall, the program provided IAC with valuable insights into global higher-education trends, strengthened international networks, and opened opportunities for future academic collaboration—particularly with FPT University, which expressed interest in developing cooperative programs with Prince of Songkla University, Phuket Campus.
