PSU Phuket Representatives Attended the Inauguration Ceremony of the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Phuket

On July 15, 2023 PSU Phuket administrative representatives, namely Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pun Thongchumnum, Vice President for PSU Phuket Campus; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Prathana Kannaovakun, Dean of Faculty of International Studies; Dr. Tagsina Sripracha, Assistant President for International Affairs, Phuket Campus and Ms. Pityada Jeokwon, Head of International Affairs Centre, attended the inauguration ceremony of the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Phuket to deliver their congratulations.

Held at the Royal Phuket Marina, the inauguration ceremony began with an opening remark by Mr. Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, followed by the national flag raising, an exclusive site visit, and a closing remark. The event was honored by Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, and Mr. Amnuay Pinsuwan, Phuket Vice Governor. Other distinguished attendees included government officials, members from Phuket’s private sector and Russian community, media, and representatives from organizations in Phuket.

With appreciable support from the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Phuket, Prince of Songkla University and Shukshin Altai State University for Humanities and Pedagogy are currently in the process of establishing a collaborative academic partnership, with a particular emphasis on language cooperation. The opening ceremony of the Russian language center is to take place at PSU Phuket Campus on August 28, 2023.
