IAC Excursion to Intara Farm

On Wednesday, 18 March 2026, the International Affairs Centre (IAC) organised a half-day excursion to Intara Farm in Phuket, a site known for its sustainable agro-tourism and eco-friendly aquaculture practices. The activity brought together 18 participants, including both international and Thai students, along with IAC staff.

Participants engaged in a range of informative and hands-on activities. These included learning about oyster pearl cultivation, lobster farming, and feeding various fish species such as black salmon, white snapper, red snapper, and grouper, as well as designing personalized tie-dye scarves using natural dyes  from mangrove bark. Students also had the opportunity to make Kanom Ko, a traditional Thai dessert made of sweet dumplings coated with coconut flakes.

One of the highlights of the excursion was kayaking through the lush mangrove forest. Despite the hot weather, many participants enjoyed paddling and took part in a beach clean-up activity, helping to raise awareness of environmental conservation.

The excursion concluded with a seafood meal prepared from fresh ingredients sourced directly from the farm. As a meaningful closing activity, participants released juvenile white snappers into the sea, contributing to marine conservation efforts and supporting the sustainability of local fishing communities.
